Storm Lake United is a testament to the power of community marketing. Lead by several vocal bodies working independently of each other, the City of Storm Lake was unable to rally around a singular voice. Under Mission Creative, leaders merged their efforts for more leverage in a new, unified group dubbed Storm Lake United.
Marketing efforts were now lead by community leaders who had a personal stake in the city’s success. The restructuring also gave way to a more broad-based vision and brought real world experience to the marketing objectives of the community.
Mission Creative also bolstered community-building efforts through work including wayfinding and vision statements. The City of Storm Lake’s major tourism development, at one time pulled in multiple directions, is now able to share common goals for the decision makers that are determined in its success.
